WHAT IS ROCK 'N' READ?
Rock 'N' Read is a nonprofit program operated in collaboration with The Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. Our program has historically donated Rocking chair and book basket to clients of Mercy Health Resource Mothers Program that are most in need.
Since its founding in 2017, more than 150 handcrafted rocking chairs and baskets of books have been donated.
At Boys & Girls Club at the Desich Family campus in Lorain, a room has been named honoring Anne Godlewski and Rock 'N' Read thanks to our donors and supporters. The room is dedicated to literacy tutoring and quiet reading.
The BGC is a nonprofit organization that serves the youth in the community. Various programs are offered at 14 locations to ensure children ages 6-18 have a safe environment in which to grow and develop to their fullest potential. A portion of Rock 'N' Read funds go directly to the Boys and Girls Club of Lorain County’s SPARK early literacy program for Lorain City Schools.

OUR MISSION
The mission of Rock 'N' Read is to provide new and expectant mothers with rocking chairs and quality children's books. Recipients can use these resources to develop a special bond with their infants and nurture an early love for reading.
Mercy Resource Mothers Program serves women and their babies who are most vulnerable in the community by offering resources and support during the prenatal period through age one. This home visiting program is staffed by certified Community Health Workers who come from the community in which they serve, acting as mentors, advocates, and teachers.
